About the RoleAs a permanent direct hire, you will work in a fast-paced automotive industry environment where attention to detail is crucial. Your mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills will be essential in ensuring high-quality tools and dies.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with progressive and transfer presses/dies, steel cutting drills, and various machining equipment. Strong knowledge of tool making processes and ability to read technical drawings are also required.
Key Responsibilities- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications
- Operate conventional or computer numerically controlled machine tools to cut, bore, grind, or shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes
- Fabricate tools, dies, or assemblies according to blueprints, sketches, or models
- Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools
- Certificate of Qualification as a Tool & Die Maker
- 1-2 years' experience in tool making or related field
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work varied shifts on a rotational basis
- Excellent knowledge of machining equipment and tool making processes
The successful candidate can expect a salary range of $37.25-$41.50 per hour, plus shift premiums and bonus program.
