The Opportunity
We are seeking a Regional Construction Manager to join our team in Southern Ontario or Quebec. This role will provide oversight and support to field-based Construction Managers and Inspectors, as well as occasional direct supervision and direction to construction crews performing pipeline maintenance activities on Canadian Pipelines and Facilities.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality commitments are carried out.
- Communicate and collaborate frequently with Manager, Resource Coordinator, peer Sr. Construction Managers, Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Inspectors to carefully select the optimal Construction Management & Inspection teams for various projects.
- Provide input to Project Managers on constructability, schedule, and cost estimates to support the efficient planning and execution of various Pipeline Integrity projects.
- Regularly visit project sites across Southern Ontario and Quebec to assess safety and quality performance, as well as adherence to Company policies and procedures.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve process efficiency and reduce project life cycle costs.
- Work with peer Regional Construction Managers to drive collaboration, consistency, and communication with project and construction teams.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to Construction Managers, Assistant Construction Managers, and other field-level Inspection and Administration staff.
- Support the development of the Construction Management Plan for projects.
- Participate in lessons learned and closeout meetings.
- Evaluate and ensure early implementation of the Project Delivery Standard (PDS) requirements that align project execution requirements with TC Energy Operational Management System (TOMS) requirements.
- Occasionally supervise and manage the execution of projects in the field.
- Possibility of short/long-term field assignments.
Requirements
- 15+ years of directly related Construction Management/Chief Inspector experience with Pipeline Integrity and Mainline projects.
- Technical trades certification or Post-Secondary Diploma in a related field.
- Valid API 1184 Pipeline Facility Construction Inspector Certification.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong construction supervision/management skills.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, P6, etc.).
- Valid API 1169 Pipeline Inspector Essentials Certification.
- ASP Construction (Quebec) Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English & French).
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and motivational skills within a construction environment.
- Proven time management, organizational, and planning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage conflict.
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We also offer competitive benefits, including a comprehensive health insurance plan, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
