Salary

The salary range for this position is $142,000 - $250,000 per year, depending on location and experience.

Job Description

This is a senior-level portfolio management position responsible for coordinating tactical and strategic investment decisions to support Sun Life's General Account.

You will work closely with the Senior Managing Director, Global Portfolio Management, to determine optimal asset mixes and identify new asset classes to improve overall performance and profitability of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading SLC's involvement in investment strategy reviews and recommending changes to investment strategies
  • Driving the research, development, and maintenance of the in-house asset portfolio optimization toolkit
  • Reviewing portfolio asset mix and risk exposures and leading actions to ensure compliance while optimizing overall exposure

In addition, you will partner with senior Portfolio Management leaders and the SLC Strategic Initiatives team to grow total SLC AUM and pursue investment opportunities that leverage the skills and capacity of SLC affiliates.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 10+ years of experience in the investment industry, ideally in an ALM or multi-asset class portfolio management role
  • CFA designation is strongly recommended; MBA/MFE (or equivalent) is preferred
  • Knowledge of broad asset classes across the investment spectrum
  • ALM understanding; fixed income & derivatives
  • Understanding of the SLF US, and SLF HuBS liability profiles
