Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Team Assistant to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a key member of our Primary Health Care Team, you will be responsible for managing client's overall clinical visit and performing various administrative and team functions.

About the Role:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, team members, and other professionals through direct participation in client care activities.
  • Ensure clients consistently receive responsiveness, caring, and concern through excellent customer service skills.
  • Arrange, manage and maintain appointments, schedules and client records, as well as site organization and environmental control.
  • Contribute to a respectful, safe and culturally appropriate work environment, and participate in workload sharing within your team and the overall clinic as needed.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of two years related healthcare experience required.
  • Experience in email and computerized calendars required.
  • Working knowledge of electronic medical records preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience maintaining medical records and filing systems, compiling statistics and processing personal health information.
  • Switchboard/receptionist experience.

Education Requirements:

  • Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Successful completion of a Unit Clerk Course and/or a Medical Office Assistant Course required.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Keyboarding Speed of 40 wpm required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required.
  • Cultural Safety preferred.
  • Mental Health First Aid preferred.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training preferred.

Salary Information:

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary range of $20.77 - $23.59 per hour, commensurate with experience.
