Drywall Installation Job Description

At PEI INC, we are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in drywall installation, including reading blueprints, supervising other workers, and applying successive coats of compound and sanding seams and joints.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Supervise other workers and ensure high-quality workmanship
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
  • Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for installation
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
  • Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets
  • Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency
  • Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces
  • Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied
  • Install exterior and interior steel studs
  • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts
  • Utilize laser alignment systems
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding, or swing stages
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms
Requirements:
  • Hand-eye coordination
  • Physically demanding work
  • Repetitive tasks
  • Work under pressure
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall installation
  • Permanent employment
  • English language proficiency
  • 40 hours per week
