Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of School Safety Monitor. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors within our schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the interior and exterior of schools for potential safety risks and threats.
  • Assist school administration and staff in upholding the school's code of conduct and board policies.
  • Provide assistance and direction to visitors and students as needed.
  • Identify and report trespassers to school administration.
  • Assist with serious and routine incidents and security matters.
  • Collaborate with school administration and police in emergency situations.
  • Resolve minor disputes between students through positive communication and conflict resolution.
  • Act as a liaison between students and school administrators.

Requirements:

  • Secondary School Diploma
  • At least six months of experience working with adolescents in an educational or community setting
  • Ability to handle difficult situations and take appropriate action in emergency situations
  • Familiarity with secondary school operations and adolescent development
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and other relevant certifications are assets
