Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at the Langley Specialized Seniors Clinic. As a member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will provide occupational therapy services to older and/or geriatric adults with chronic conditions, promoting independence and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct occupational therapy assessments, consultations, and interventions to maximize physical function and promote independence and safety
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, clients, and caregivers to develop individual treatment goals and provide education and training on independent living skills and occupational performance
  • Provide geriatric clinical expertise, consultation, and leadership in evidence-based practice to staff and clients, and act as a client advocate by providing information and liaising with funding agencies and community resources
  • Maintain knowledge of current developments in evidence-based Occupational Therapy and geriatric practice, and participate in quality improvement activities and research projects related to older adult and/or geriatric clients
Requirements
  • Graduation from an approved school of Occupational Therapy
  • Two years' recent, clinical-related experience in working with older and/or geriatric clients or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of BC (COTBC) and eligible for membership in the BC Society of Occupational Therapists and/or Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes
