Project Manager II Opportunity at BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager II to join our team at the Perinatal Mental Health and Substance Use Programs.

About the Role

This is a key leadership position that requires a seasoned professional with expertise in project management, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement. As a Project Manager II, you will be responsible for developing and implementing knowledge exchange strategies to enhance connections between evidence and practice, as well as building capacity for uptake and evaluation of evidence-based practices across our programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Execution: Establish detailed project charters, plans, and objectives to outline timelines and deliverables. Execute project plans according to methodologies, ensuring successful completion of project components, facilitating consensus with stakeholders, and ensuring readiness for project implementation.
  • Project Monitoring and Reporting: Track project progress according to plans and identified metrics. Monitor and report on project status and major barriers encountered. Make decisions and recommendations regarding project scope and related changes to facilitate a successful outcome.
  • Financial Management: Develop and monitor project budgets within operational demands and environmental/resource constraints. Utilize best practices to thoroughly monitor and adhere to allocated budgets. Report variances, plan and adjust operations/staffing to meet projections and annual targets, approve expenditures, and prepare summaries.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Provide supervisory guidance and direction to staff. Maintain full accountability for personnel, including hiring, termination, and handling discipline problems.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Master's degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration, or a relevant healthcare discipline, with a minimum of seven years of recent experience in project management and consultation processes with diverse stakeholders.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is considered an asset.
  • Experience or working knowledge of quality improvement methodology, change management, and chronic disease management is crucial for success.
  • Excellent communication skills to navigate complex interdisciplinary environments, including communicating with physicians.
  • Computer literacy with word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project management, and database applications.
  • Commitment to developing knowledge and understanding of legislative obligations and provincial commitments found in foundational documents, such as TRC Calls to Action, In Plain Sight, UNDRIP, and Declaration Act Action Plan.
