Job Title: Chief Executive Officer

Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Executive Officer to lead our organization in its mission to regulate and supervise the financial services sector in Ontario.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the Financial Services Regulatory Authority, aligning with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the organization, ensuring effective and efficient regulation and supervision of the financial services sector.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including the Ministry of Finance, regulated sectors, consumers, and other stakeholders in the communities we serve.
  • Champion and promote the Financial Services Regulatory Authority's legislative mandate and the organization's mission, vision, and values.
  • Ensure the organization's regulatory decision-making and decisions are made and seen to be made in an independent and impartial manner.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate degree in finance, business administration, law, public policy, or a related field, or a professional designation and related experience.
  • At least 10 years' relevant experience at an executive leadership level in the financial services sector, or a similar complex environment.
  • Proven expertise in strategic and operational leadership, with a strong track record of success in leading significant, complex transformations.
  • Exceptional political acuity, ability to navigate the regulatory environment, and manage complex internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent conflict management and crisis communication skills, with the ability to negotiate complex and contentious issues.
  • Exceptional judgement and ability to make sound decisions in a timely manner.
