Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Self-Checkout Associate to join our team at Walmart Canada. As a Self-Checkout Associate, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide assistance to customers processing transactions through the self-service area(s), ensuring a smooth and efficient checkout experience.
  • Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized self-service area, free of debris and foreign objects.
  • Product Knowledge: Educate customers on the correct and efficient use of self-service options, promoting company sponsor programs and services when applicable.
  • Quality Control: Conduct quality checks and interventions as required, explaining the reasons for the intervention or quality checks to customers.
  • Technical Support: Call the Customer Service Manager when the self-service area(s) is low on cash or has a technical issue.
  • Scan & Go Scanner Management: Return Scan & Go scanners to their home after use.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills: Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain a clean and organized self-service area, free of debris and foreign objects.
  • Product Knowledge: Educate customers on the correct and efficient use of self-service options.
  • Technical Skills: Conduct quality checks and interventions as required, and provide technical support when needed.
Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Previous Retail Experience: Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in a customer-facing role.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with technical systems and equipment, including self-service checkout systems.
