Lead Shop Service Technician

Spartan Staffing Solutions is partnering with a National Heavy Equipment company to find a skilled Lead Shop Service Technician to join their team in Mississauga, ON.
Key Responsibilities:- Assign jobs and work areas to Service Department employees based on their skills and knowledge.
- Assist in the appraisal of repair orders and participate in repairs, reviewing orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Direct and assist technicians and apprentices in diagnosing machine problems.
- Inspect and repair special tools, recommending new tooling as needed.
- Advise the Shop Foreman or Service Manager of customer complaints.
- Assist with coordinating and conducting quarterly safety meetings.
- May fill the Shop Foreman's role in their absence.
- May arrange for and participate in reconditioning used equipment and setting up new equipment.
- May approve the release of equipment for delivery to customers.
- May assist in providing performance feedback for service technicians and staff to the Service Manager.
- Ability to work multiple shift patterns.
- Ability to lead others.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to groups.
- Ability to use standard desktop applications.
- 5+ years' experience as a heavy-duty service technician.
- 421A Red Seal certificate required.
- Class 1 driver's license considered an asset.
- Forklift license preferred.
- Availability to work Second Shift (12pm to 10:30pm).
