Mandate

As a key member of our team at Venture Carpets, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning and ordering parts for our maintenance department. This role requires a high level of organization and attention to detail to ensure that our inventory is accurately managed and that all necessary parts are available when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase all parts required for maintenance, ensuring timely delivery and competitive pricing
  • Implement and maintain an efficient parts storage system, ensuring easy access and retrieval of parts
  • Coding all parts in Guide TI, ensuring accurate tracking and inventory management
  • Negotiate pricing agreements with key suppliers, driving cost savings and improving vendor relationships
  • Run errands as needed, supporting the team with tasks such as monitoring rolling stock
  • Monitor inventory levels, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes as needed
  • Other related tasks as assigned by management

Skills Sought

Qualifications Required:

  • Basic knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, and hydraulics, ensuring a strong understanding of our equipment and systems
  • Comfortable communicating in English, to effectively interact with English-speaking suppliers and colleagues
  • Computer skills including MS-Office, supporting the efficient management of tasks and data
  • Valid driver's license, enabling the safe operation of company vehicles
  • Knowledge of Guide TI and Prextra software, considered an asset in this role
  • Knowledge of the Kanban system, also considered an asset
