Job SummaryThe Family Support Worker will provide crisis interventions, including conflict resolution, immediate modeling of parent techniques, facilitation of meetings, supervised access referrals, and additional work alongside the child.
Key Responsibilities- Provide emotional support and guidance to families in crisis;
- Develop and implement individualized plans to address specific family needs;
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure comprehensive support services are provided to families;
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge;
- Conduct home visits and other settings as required to engage with clients;
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to client interactions and program activities.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's Degree in human/social/child and youth care services or a related field;
- One (1) year recent related work experience working with families in crisis, preferably in a social services setting;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- A valid BC driver's license and reliable transportation;
- Knowledge of and ability to work with complex trauma, Autism, FASD, ODD or other neurobiological conditions.
We offer a competitive salary of $63,000 - $72,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus benefits including:
