Drainage Superintendent

The Drainage Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the Municipal Drainage Services team, ensuring compliance with the Drainage Act and relevant policies. This role involves managing programs and services, liaising with stakeholders, and representing the Corporation in various forums.
Key Responsibilities- Manage Municipal Drainage Services, including maintenance, construction, and administration activities.
- Liaise with stakeholders, including landowners, contractors, and engineering firms.
- Represent the Corporation in Court of Revision, Tribunals, Appeals, and other hearings.
- Prepare reports for Council and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Supervise County drainage staff and recommend policies and procedures to improve efficiency.
- Minimum three-year college diploma in Civil Engineering Technology.
- At least five years' experience in a municipal environment, dealing with construction management, procurement, and private landowners.
- Certified Member of O.A C. E. T.T. as Technologist.
- Proof of competency in surveying through third-party certification.
- Conflict resolution skills.
- Understanding of the Drainage Act, Tile Drainage Act, and relevant legislation.
- Advanced surveying capabilities and knowledge of new products.
- Valid Ontario driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Computer expertise in corporate standard software and department-specific software.
