We are seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our kitchen team at Jam Cafe Kitsilano Ltd. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals and individual dishes to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities- Menu Planning and Preparation
Plan and prepare menus, estimating food requirements and costs to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Culinary ExpertisePrepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes, using a variety of cooking techniques and ingredients.
Team LeadershipTrain and supervise kitchen staff and helpers, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
Kitchen ManagementManage kitchen operations, including cleaning and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements- Education and Experience
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Work EnvironmentWork in a fast-paced restaurant environment, standing for extended periods and working under pressure.
Personal QualitiesExcellent oral communication skills, dependability, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organized, reliability, team player, and time management skills.
Work Conditions- Language
English is the primary language of communication in this role.
Work Schedule35 to 40 hours per week, with a permanent employment contract.
