Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health are seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team at Glace Bay Hospital.

About the Opportunity

As a Mental Health Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering time-limited, evidence-based psycho-social assessments and treatments to adults with Tier-3 mental disorders. You will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to provide high-quality care and support to patients.

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Social Work and be registered or eligible to be registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers. They will have a minimum of two years of clinical experience working with an adult population, providing time-limited, evidence-based psycho-social assessments and treatments.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the principles and practices guiding our work, including the mission, vision, values, and expected behaviors, are integrated within the services you provide.

About You
  • We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • You will have demonstrated skills in DSM formulation, applying time-limited, evidence-based psycho-social assessments and treatments for mental disorders, and knowledge of Stepped Care principles, clinical care pathways, and outcomes monitoring.
  • A strong commitment to ongoing learning and professional development is essential.
Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position is $76,912 - $102,446, based on a 75-hour biweekly schedule.
