RhynoCare is seeking an exceptional Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our team in the Sunderland area.

We offer a competitive salary of approximately $85,000 per year.

Job Description

As a Registered Practical Nurse at RhynoCare, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to our residents. Your primary duties will include:

  • Providing nursing care in accordance with established policies, physician orders, and resident plans of care;
  • Utilizing sound nursing practice principles to ensure excellent nursing and personal care;
  • Ensuring timely and safe admission, transfer, and discharge processes;
  • Managing medications and narcotics safely and securely;
  • Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents;

You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure that our residents receive comprehensive and person-centered care.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent degree;
  • Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses;
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification;
  • Basic computer proficiency;
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate;
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills;
  • The ability to work effectively with others in a compassionate and supportive manner;
  • A respect for each resident's individuality and their right to privacy and self-respect;
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, and the Health Disciplines Act;
  • Medical clearance, including TB tests;
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or Adult Abuse Registry Check;
  • A clear Criminal Record check;
  • Proof of vaccination and adherence to COVID-19 prevention protocols;
