Director of Contractor Management

The Director of Contractor Management plays a pivotal role in overseeing the town's infrastructure and operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage municipal operations and infrastructure, including roads, bridges, landfills, airport, waste and recycling systems, and water systems.
  • Provide technical expertise and oversee departmental staff to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Coordinate functions with contractors and consultants and implement capital work plans in line with budget goals and Council objectives.
  • Direct and supervise the town's Operations and Infrastructure department, covering road maintenance, winter control, bridges, and more.
  • Represent the department in community and governmental relations.
  • Ensure compliance with drinking water and wastewater regulations.
  • Manage municipal buildings, plants, and fleet.
  • Develop and implement departmental goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Support the CAO and Municipal Council, attending management meetings as required.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technologist designation preferred.
  • ~5 years of management experience in infrastructure operations, with 3 years in municipal services.
  • ~ Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and regulations.
  • ~ Experience managing staff in a unionized environment.
  • ~ Proficiency in municipal public works, including roads and water systems.
  • ~ Skilled in Engineering, GIS, Asset Management, and AutoCAD.
  • ~ Valid G driver's license and satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
