Job Description

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a variety of work including the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds in assigned area(s). Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and organize operational requirements of the systems monitored and controlled by the computerized building automation system (BAS).
  • Perform inspections, maintenance, repairs, and diagnostic duties on mechanical systems.
  • Control the daily operation of the computerized building automation system (BAS) and all functions of building systems and equipment.
  • Supervise external contractors and technicians during projects being completed inside the facility.
  • Report to the Facility Manager and/or the Work Control Assistant on a regular basis. Work closely with either to establish operating goals, maintenance requirements, and long-range projects.
  • Monitor progress of projects, confer with contractors, and review work status to see that development is progressing according to schedule.
  • Perform basic administrative tasks associated with the operation of the Engineering department.
  • Perform tasks required to help successfully execute an event (electrical hook ups, lighting adjustments, etc.).
  • Perform other maintenance tasks as required (building repairs, painting, etc.).
  • Perform snow removal/landscaping.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Perform general and preventative maintenance on facilities and equipment.
  • Provide overall support for facilities operation.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair building architectural/structural systems, furniture, furnishings, and equipment (FF&E), and participate in construction and renovation projects.
  • Repair doors and door hardware.
  • Inspect and repair equipment such as audio/visual boxes, flagpoles, magnetic locks, etc.
  • Participate in the commissioning of new equipment and systems.
  • Operate Material Handling and Personnel Lifting Equipment.
  • Adhere to the collective agreements in effect.
  • Know and comply with all ARAMARK and client policies and procedures regarding safety, security, and emergencies.
Qualifications
  • HVAC experience is an asset.
  • At least 2-3 years of previous experience in a similar role is required.
  • Must be able to do shift work.
  • Successful applicant must possess at minimum completed high school education.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays when required.
  • Required to complete a criminal background check prior to starting employment.
  • Previous maintenance experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
