Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Recreation Therapist to join our team. In this role, you will perform comprehensive assessments of patients, develop individualized treatment goals, and implement evidence-based leisure programs to enhance their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments to determine patient leisure needs and develop personalized treatment plans
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless delivery of care and achieve patient-centered goals
  • Design and implement engaging leisure programs for individuals and groups, promoting socialization, relaxation, and enjoyment
  • Support patients and families in connecting with community resources upon discharge, ensuring a smooth transition to independent living
Qualifications and Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Recreation Therapist in a hospital setting is preferred
  • Degree in Recreation with a focus on Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field, accompanied by a post-graduate diploma in Therapeutic Recreation
  • Membership eligibility in Therapeutic Recreation Ontario Registered (TRO) and/or Canadian Therapeutic Recreation Association (CTRA)
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently
