Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Portfolio Management Consultant: Strategic Portfolio Growth Expert to join our team at RBC Dominion Securities Inc. in Montreal, Canada.

About the Role

This is a full-time salaried position that requires strong portfolio management expertise and excellent interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will work closely with our teams to provide strategic advice on portfolio growth strategies, including manager selection, asset location, and technology tools.

Responsibilities
  • Train teams on workflow efficiencies and coach them on utilizing existing systems to optimize their processes.
  • Add value by offering subject matter expertise on manager selection, asset allocation, and other related areas.
  • Troubleshoot issues arising from supported teams.
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings to determine investment philosophies and implementation strategies.
  • Educate teams on incorporating UMA strategy into their business.
  • Build relationships with discretionary advisors and their teams.
  • Discuss best practices for Investment Policy Statements, asset mix monitoring, and quarterly reviews.
  • Ongoing book management, withdrawals, deposits, and changes in asset mix.
  • Assist new employees in becoming familiar with trading and management platforms.
  • Liaise with Managed Solutions Group, Portfolio Overlay Team, and Portfolio Advisory Group.
  • Develop scalable Unified Managed Household tools for discretionary and non-discretionary advisors.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A minimum of 5 years in the financial services industry, preferably with Dominion Securities.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) to do business with partners across Canada.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication, and presentation skills.
  • CFA Level 1 or CIM, or strong understanding of discretionary money management.
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly in Excel.
