Project Management Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Project Management Coordinator to join our team at Canam Group in Ontario. As an Intern, you will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager and Site Superintendent with the management and supervision of a structural steel erection project.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering or construction management and excellent communication skills. You will work closely with the project team to ensure the successful completion of the project on time and within budget.

The selected candidate will be based physically on a construction site in Ontario and will be required to work a standard 40-hour week, Monday to Friday. However, overtime may be required to support the job site, teams, and schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager and Site Superintendent with project planning and coordination
  • Collect data on site and update the construction schedule using MS Project, Smartsheet, or Google Workspace
  • Produce erection progress and site daily reports using PlanGrid/AutoDesk or Trimble Connect
  • Support quality control initiatives and follow up on delivery schedules and validation slips
  • Participate in coordination meetings with the engineering, detailing, and fabrication team
  • Attend on-site coordination meetings with the general contractor
  • Assist the steel erector in repair requests and field works
  • Assist with health and safety recordings
  • Schedule the project life cycle using MS Project software or Smartsheet

Requirements:

  • Civil engineering or construction management bachelor degree in progress (ideally third year or higher)
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite, Office 365, and other software; computer experience with AutoCAD preferred
  • Autonomy and ability to manage priorities
  • Willingness to learn, discover, and be part of a high-functioning/fast-paced team
  • Exceptional organizational and English communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Bilingualism (English and French) would be considered an asset
  • Ability to drive (Valid G license) – Required

Compensation: $45,000 - $60,000 per annum, depending on experience
