Insurance Claims Specialist

At Crawford & Company, we are currently seeking a skilled Insurance Claims Specialist to join our team in Canada. This exciting opportunity offers flexible work arrangements, including in-office, hybrid, or fully remote options.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and settling claims by telephone and correspondence. They will have the authority to settle losses within their delegated limits or report directly to clients while directing field adjusters and legal counsel as needed.
Key Responsibilities:- Investigate, collect, and analyze claims information to determine coverage, liability, and quantum.
- Negotiate and settle claims efficiently and effectively.
- Accurately record, report, and present files to stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate billing, time, and expense records.
- Collaborate with management to maintain strong client relationships.
- A minimum of 2 years of technical claims handling experience in an insurance environment, with knowledge of commercial and personal lines in property and auto PD.
- Post-secondary education in an insurance-related field, with a working towards full independent adjusting license and CIP designation.
- Ability to conduct telephone investigations, evaluate, negotiate, and settle first- and third-party commercial lines claims.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate and detailed activity, transaction, and reserve records.
- Advanced computer skills, including Office 365 and Windows 10.
- Excellent telephone etiquette and courtesy.
- Strong communication skills, with a focus on quality and customer service.
- French/English bilingualism is considered an asset.
