Construction Laborer Specialist

About the Job

We are seeking a highly motivated and physically fit Construction Laborer Specialist to join our team at VOIX CONSTRUCTION INC. This is a permanent full-time position working 30 to 40 hours per week.

Job Description

The Construction Laborer Specialist will be responsible for assisting in various aspects of construction projects, including mixing, pouring, and spreading materials such as concrete and asphalt, framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs. The successful candidate will also level earth to fine grade specifications, pave and rake asphalt, clean and pile salvaged materials, perform routine maintenance work, remove rubble and other debris at construction sites, and tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction.

Responsibilities
  • Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
  • Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications
  • Pave and rake asphalt
  • Clean and pile salvaged materials
  • Perform routine maintenance work
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
  • Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience
Work Environment

This position requires working outdoors, at heights, underground, and in confined spaces. You will also be exposed to noisy, dusty, cold/refrigerated, and hot environments.

Specialization

As a Construction Laborer Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work on various types of construction projects, including driveways, industrial, commercial, and institutional, residential, sidewalks and curbs, roofing, and green economy sector projects.

Transportation/Travel Information

A valid driver's license is an asset for this position. If you own a vehicle, you may be able to use it for work-related purposes.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is between $45,000 and $60,000 per year, depending on experience and location. As a valued member of our team, you will receive comprehensive benefits, including health and dental insurance, a pension plan, and paid time off.

Physical Demands

This position requires physical stamina and the ability to handle heavy loads, up to 9 kg (20 lbs). You will also need to work in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks.

Working Conditions

You will work primarily outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Some tasks may require working at heights, underground, or in confined spaces.

Additional Requirements

We are looking for a team player who is hardworking, reliable, and willing to learn. A Green job certification is an asset for this position.
