Electrical Design Engineer: Alstom's Railway Expert

Are you passionate about electrical design and want to make a difference in the railway industry? We're looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Alstom, a leading global company that designs, builds, and maintains high-speed trains, metros, and other transport systems.
We're seeking someone with expertise in electrical engineering and AutoCAD drafting who can support our projects from concept to delivery. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for preparing and executing installation engineering activities, ensuring that drawings meet project requirements, and collaborating with our field teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
About the Role:
- Prepare and execute installation engineering activities, including drawings, documentation, and specifications.
- Ensure that drawings are delivered according to project execution requirements, including customer, installation subcontractor, local quality regulations, and project drawing templates.
- Support the field team to understand and review deliverables, prepare design modifications, and respond to site inputs.
- Review interface drawings and provide Sig equipment requirements for space allocation and cable trunking.
- Collaborate with the Project Installation Manager, Site Operations Manager, and Field Operations Manager to prepare the Field Quality Dossier for Handover.
- Prepare as-built documentation and ensure conformity with installed configuration.
- Perform site surveys during preparation and execution phases (if necessary).
- Liaise with BIM Coordinators and BIM Modelers to coordinate common IE studies and deliverables.
- Apply Digital & Integrated Systems Installation and Field Operations Process for IE activities.
Requirements:
- Educated to degree level in Electrical Engineering.
- P. Eng certification or in progress desired.
- Proficient with AutoCAD drafting.
- A minimum of 4 years' experience in electrical design, preferably in project and/or construction environments.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Familiarity with Railway products and services across various market segments (Urban, Mainline, F&M) is desirable.
- Knowledge of BIM procedures and tools is also desirable.
- Ability to work in challenging conditions, including uneven ground, carrying tools, and working outside in adverse weather.
- Flexible working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the project.
