Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Structural Specialist to join our team at EllisDon Forming Ltd. as a Carpenter, Concrete Forms.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for building foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring, and erecting walls and roof systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Schedule and coordinate work on sites
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Supervise other workers
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required
Work Environment

The job requires working in a noisy, dusty environment outdoors, with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.

Physical Capabilities

The successful candidate should be able to:

  • Bend, crouch, and kneel
  • Handle heavy loads
  • Work under tight deadlines
