Subcontract Management Professional

**Job Overview:**
We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as a Subcontract Management Professional. This role plays a critical part in the management of subcontracts to support new vessel construction.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of schedule delivery for assigned projects, ensuring timely completion and effective project execution.
- Oversee the preparation and issuing of subcontracts, creation of purchase orders, and bid process management.
- Serve as the point of contact for commercial aspects of subcontracts, providing leadership and guidance to ensure smooth execution.
- Negotiate change orders, minimize exposure to claims, and proactively mitigate risks.
- Coordinate technical evaluations, conduct commercial evaluations, and manage recommendation for award.
- Review subcontract terms and conditions, considering special terms and conditions as required.
- Meet scheduled milestones from the RFP through Award, preparing and issuing Recommendation to Proceed and seek approval.
- Prepare and issue subcontracts for execution, ensuring timely delivery of project requirements.
- Issue letters of regret to unsuccessful suppliers, maintaining open communication throughout the process.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in procurement or contract administration, preferably in the shipbuilding industry.
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Science, Finance, or Law.
- Professional certification or training through an accredited procurement society (e.g., PMAC, SCMP, The Logistics Institute).
- Experience in a project environment on capital projects, with a proven track record in establishing, managing, and maintaining multi-million-dollar subcontracts.
- Advanced procurement skills, including negotiation of change orders, minimizing exposure to claims, and proactively mitigating risks.
- Strong negotiation skills, ability to lead complex multi-discipline supply chain projects, and excellent customer service and diplomacy skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize work, and problem-solve in an inclusive manner with internal colleagues and external parties.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
