Job Overview
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team at qathet General Hospital in Powell River, BC. As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide occupational therapy services to enable patients to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes.
About the Role
You will assess patient's occupational performance utilizing an evidence-based approach, plan and implement goal-directed services, evaluate the effectiveness of the service, prepare and maintain records, participate in interdisciplinary research, demonstrate safe and effective resource utilization and quality management, and contribute to the development, review, and promotion of occupational therapy services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services to patients to enable them to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes
- Assess patient's occupational performance utilizing an evidence-based approach
- Plan and implement goal-directed services
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the service
- Prepare and maintain records
- Participate in interdisciplinary research
- Demonstrate safe and effective resource utilization and quality management
- Contribute to the development, review, and promotion of occupational therapy services
Qualifications and Skills
You must have current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC) and be eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT). You should have basic knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice related to designated clinical area, basic knowledge of occupational therapy standardised tests and measures, broad knowledge of occupational therapy theory and practice within a patient and family centred model of care, demonstrated ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety, demonstrated ability to provide competent and culturally safe care in a variety of settings with diverse populations, basic knowledge of research process and methodology, and broad knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in patient care.
Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position is CAD $42.56/Hr. - CAD $52.95/Hr.
