Safety Consultant for Oil and Gas Operations

Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a qualified Safety Advisor to support our oil and gas producer client in Grande Prairie, AB. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in Process Operations or Drilling and Completions, along with substantial experience in a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) advisory role, holding an NCSO designation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive field-based safety audits, ensuring adherence to HSE management systems and the implementation of safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform thorough incident investigations to identify root causes and develop corrective actions to mitigate future occurrences.
  • Stay informed on regulatory and industry trends within Health, Safety & Environment, ensuring compliance and proactive measures.
  • Educate employees, contractors, site supervisors, and service vendors on operational activities aligned with corporate safety expectations.
  • Provide expert technical assistance on HSE-related issues as necessary.
  • Revise and implement safety standards, procedures, and programs as required.
  • Conduct field safety inspections and evaluations, actively participating in safety meetings and pre-project discussions.
  • Deliver accurate and reliable reports and statistics concerning HSE incidents and accidents.
  • Coach and mentor field personnel in Risk Management and Hazard Assessments.
  • Support and train personnel in Health & Safety best practices and procedures.
  • Implement new HSE policies, regulations, and corporate directives as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the oilfield industry.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in facility construction, production, or drilling & completion.
  • 3-5 years of HSE advisory experience in facility construction, production, or drilling & completion.
  • CRSP designation, NCSO, or Occupational Health & Safety Certification is an asset.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
