Job Title: Homeless Shelter Worker

At Nanaimo Family Life Association, we are dedicated to providing essential services to our community. We invite applications for a Homeless Shelter Worker position, where you will play a vital role in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness.

  • Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Work Site Environment: You will work in a shelter for the homeless, providing direct support to clients with socio-economic needs or conditions, such as housing, nutrition, unemployment, and financial assistance.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Prepare and serve meals
    • Resolve conflict situations
    • Liaise with other social services agencies and healthcare providers
    • Assist clients with special needs
    • Clean and maintain equipment
  • Supervision: This role has no supervision responsibility.
  • Certificates and Licenses: Food Safety Certificate
