Role Summary:
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join its General Surgery team at Sechelt Hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to assigned patients/clients, working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary care team.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate client care to optimize health outcomes.
- Participate in discharge planning, functioning as a client advocate and teaching clients and their families about illness/injury and overall health promotion and wellness.
- Enhance quality of life from the perspective of the client/family, demonstrating physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Document care provided and respond to incidents in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Consult, confer, and collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain and advance your own clinical competence through ongoing education and training.
Requirements:
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Demonstrated ability in nursing practice related to designated client group.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement care plans, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
