About the Position

This is a hybrid remote position based in Winnipeg with frequent overnight travel to First Nation communities in Manitoba. As an active team member in the assigned program(s), the Counsellor participates in continuous quality improvement activities.

Job Description
  • Maintain and implement service goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and standards.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in counselling, social work, psychology, occupational therapy or related discipline from a recognized university.
  • Previous experience in counselling, including individual work with children and adults.
  • Knowledge of community resources and ability to make use of them.
  • Familiarity with the CCPA Code of Ethics (Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association).
  • Able to identify high-risk situations and respond appropriately.
  • Familiarity with literature on developmental disabilities, support, treatment, trends, philosophies, and practices.
  • Experience working within Indigenous communities/cultures is an asset.
  • Possess a valid Manitoba driver's license and vehicle for community-based programs.
Working Conditions

Frequent overnight travel to remote communities in Manitoba may be required. Ability to work flexible hours as necessary.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is approximately $60,000-$80,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
