Site Investigation and Remediation Team Lead Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Team Lead for our Site Investigation and Remediation team in Alberta. As a key member of the leadership team, you will play a crucial role in growing our business through recruitment, retention, and development of staff.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Daily operational management of up to 15 SIR professionals, including junior field-focused staff, senior project managers, and subject matter experts
  2. Communicate organizational operational expectations and execute strategic vision for the team
  3. Resource planning and management by monitoring staff utilization and availability
  4. Work with team members to align professional challenges with career plans and business goals
  5. Conduct goal setting and performance review process for team members and collaborate with leadership to identify training plans and performance targets
  6. Maintain focus on recognition and morale building within the team and plan staff appreciation initiatives
  7. Provide ongoing performance evaluation and targeted constructive feedback to team members and initiate performance management when needed
  8. Collaborate with safety personnel and leadership to support mandatory training requirements for team members
  9. Initiate and chair SIR team meetings
  10. Attend regular TL meetings with Leadership and Human Resources
  11. Contribute to compensation, leadership level, and job category discussions
  12. Lead or participate in recruiting and onboarding new personnel through identifying potential candidates, reviewing resumes, and participating in the interview process
  13. Work with the team to drive new technical initiatives or service lines
  14. Participate in project work as part of the R&R team and achieve 50% utilization

Expected Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience

Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in environmental or natural sciences such as Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, or Engineering, or relevant technologist certificate program
  2. Minimum 5 years of relevant environmental experience, preferably within a professional consulting environment
  3. Knowledge of relevant provincial and federal regulations and guidelines
  4. Previous leadership or management experience is desirable
