Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
  • Assess, educate, and support patients and their families, as well as collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless care.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the unique needs and preferences of each patient.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, using clear and concise language.
  • Participate in ongoing learning and professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in patient care.
  • Contribute to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide a healthy environment for staff, physicians, volunteers, learners, patients, and families.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Nursing, Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Physical Assessment Course.
  • Critical Care 1 and 2 required.
  • Recent PACU certificate preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years current PACU/CCU experience.
  • Minimum 2 years current adult and paediatric surgical experience.
  • RNAO and OPANA membership, preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year procedural sedation experience, preferred.
  • Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset.

This is a Part Time Permanent position with 8 hour shifts, days and evenings, including weekends on an on call basis, in the Post Anesthetic Care / Surgery Unit.
