Job Title: MRI Technologist

Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals.

Job Summary

The MRI Technologist will be responsible for performing MRI examinations in accordance with departmental policy and procedures. This includes receiving and completing requisitions, entering relevant data into the radiology information system, preparing examination trays and patients for specific procedures, operating computerized imaging equipment, and monitoring patient during procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI examinations in accordance with established procedures
  • Monitor patient during procedures and respond to any emergent situations
  • Operate computerized imaging equipment and process and archive acquired data
  • Prepare examination trays and patients for specific procedures
  • Enter relevant data into the radiology information system
  • Report malfunctioning equipment to the Supervisor
  • Participate in the departmental Continuous Quality Improvement/LEAN programs
  • Maintain designated work area and ensure that the department meets Health and Safety rules, regulations, and practices
Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) in Magnetic Resonance Imaging, as well as completion of an Intravenous Therapy training course when required by site practice. A minimum of one year of recent, related experience is also required.

Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of standards of practice and guidelines for Medical Imaging practitioners established by the CAMRT and/or other relevant national professional associations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practice related to designated modality
  • Demonstrated knowledge of organization policies, procedures, and standards of care, including practice of safe work procedures with modality equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families, coworkers, physicians, and other health care staff
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others
