About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Porter Coordinator to join our team at BC Children's Hospital. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth delivery of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Provide guidance and direction to designated staff, ensuring they have the necessary support and resources to perform their duties effectively.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to staff members.
  • Operations Management
    • Oversee the quality and quantity of work output, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
    • Monitor and review electronic systems to ensure timely and satisfactory responses to work requests.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate updates and reminders on standard procedures and department operations to staff through daily huddles and written materials.
    • Respond to queries from clients related to porter services, investigating concerns and providing resolutions.
  • Process Improvement
    • Observe workflow variations and provide recommendations to management on adjusting departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Completion of Grade 12
    • Four (4) years' recent, related experience, including one (1) year in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to deal with others effectively
    • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
    • Organizational skills and ability to operate related equipment
