Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team in St. John's, NL. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing project accounting, consolidating financial reports, and developing budgets and financial forecasts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with Canadian GAAP and IFRS.
  • Project Accounting: Oversee project accounting and consolidate financial reports from various construction sites.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, monitor, and update project budgets and financial forecasts, analyzing budget variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure adequate funding for projects.
  • Tax Compliance: Manage federal and provincial tax filings, including GST/HST, payroll taxes, and other relevant construction-related taxes.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Certifications: Active Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in Canada.
