About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health organization is seeking a skilled Healthcare Social Worker to join our team. As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will provide a diverse range of interventions to clients and their families, enabling them to achieve their optimal level of functioning and health.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing psychosocial assessments, adjustment therapy, supportive therapy, crisis counseling, resource counseling, discharge planning, and case management
  • Advocating, educating, and collaborating on behalf of individuals and groups within the institution and community
  • Working autonomously and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's Degree in Social Work from a recognized university, be registered or eligible for registration with the NSCSW, and have 2 years of clinical experience as a clinical Social Worker. Knowledge of the fundamentals of human behavior, including systems theory, family dynamics, group dynamics, and theories of behavior change, is also essential.
