We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Assurance & Accounting team. As a trusted advisor, you will provide comprehensive financial information to clients, enabling them to make informed decisions with confidence.

Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per year, based on experience.

Job Description

As a Senior Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and preparation of financial statements, tax returns, and other client deliverables.
  • Delivering industry and technical expertise through client interactions, technical work, and high-quality deliverables.
  • Collaborating with the client engagement team to discuss roles, responsibilities, risk areas, and deadlines.
  • Thinking strategically about client needs by understanding their business and key risks, while identifying ways to add value to their business.
  • Monitoring project timelines against targets, adjusting as necessary, and advising supervisors and clients of project status.
  • Networking in the local business community and considering business development opportunities.
  • Mentoring, motivating, and coaching team members towards professional and personal development.
  • Developing a thorough understanding of MNP's services, businesses, and industry.
  • Promoting regular attendance, balanced lifestyle, and high standards of team wellness.
  • Attending internal MNP courses to further develop tax knowledge.
  • Maintaining flexibility to travel, as necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3-4 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Working towards a CPA designation is considered an asset.
  • An understanding of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles.
  • Developing people management, relationship building, and leadership skills.
  • Experience working with accounting and tax software.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
  • A strong commitment to excellence and attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving skills with solid analytical skills.
  • Strong computer literacy, including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
