As an integral member of our interdisciplinary Allied Health team, the Occupational Therapist plays a vital role in preventing, alleviating, or minimizing dysfunction, enabling clients to achieve their maximum level of functional independence.

About the Role:
  • Provide quality occupational therapy services to patients at Toronto General Hospital within the framework of patient-centered care.
  • Communicate effectively with members of the inter-professional team.
  • Provide education to patients, their families, occupational therapy students, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, meetings, committees, and quality initiatives in the Department and relevant Programs/Services.
  • Assist with coverage of other service areas where required.
What We're Looking For:
  • Completion of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy (OT) or equivalent.
  • Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
  • Member of Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) and/or Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists (OSOT) is preferred.
  • MoCA certification.
  • 1-2 years experience in an acute care hospital is preferred.
  • Experience with psychosocial and physical health and related assessment and intervention skills addressing occupational performance.
  • Experience with splinting, neurological dysfunction, as well as seating and positioning is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates strong and effective written, oral, and nonverbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job.

  • $104,000 - $129,000 per year based on experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy.
