Job Overview

This role reports to the Aquatics & Recreation Manager and involves monitoring, organizing activities, and enforcing rules in our Kids Drop-In Centre and Multi-Purpose gymnasium, ensuring the safety of children and providing exceptional service to club members.


Responsibilities

  • Enforce all rules of the Kids Drop-In Centre and Multi-Purpose gymnasium to provide a safe and welcoming environment for children ages 6-12 and teens ages 13-17.
  • Interact with youth/teens and serve as a positive role model, promoting social interaction and growth.
  • Prevent and resolve conflicts between participants during supervised activities.
  • Communicate with parents who may be present before and after activities.
  • Set up, put away, and organize equipment, noting and reporting damaged or missing items.
  • Occasionally assist with special events and birthday parties.


Requirements

  • Experience working with children (ages 6-12) in sports and activity settings (e.g., camp counselor, program instructor).
  • Knowledge of various sports and games, including technical skills and rules for basketball, volleyball, floor hockey, and dodge ball.
  • Current CPR/First-Aid Certification.
  • Recent Vulnerable Sector Screening (within the last 6 months).
  • Ability to conduct sports and activities for ages 6 years and up in a safe and enjoyable manner.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, patient individual who can work effectively without supervision and remain fully engaged while interacting with youth and teens.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.


Compensation

This position comes with a competitive salary of $42,000 per year, based on Toronto's market rate.
