About the Position

Academica Group is seeking a qualified Computer Science Faculty Member to join our team at Mount Royal University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the Computer Science Major, developing an active research program, and contributing to the growth and development of our faculty.

Job Description

We are looking for an individual with a strong background in computing-related disciplines, preferably holding a PhD. The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching assembly language, hardware/software interface, operating systems, and other related courses. They should also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach a range of courses, including COMP 2655, COMP 2659, and COMP 3659. They may also have the opportunity to develop new courses in their area of expertise. In addition to teaching, the faculty member will be required to maintain an active research program, involving undergraduate students and attracting external funding when possible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in the Computer Science Major, including assembly language, hardware/software interface, operating systems, and other related topics
  • Develop and maintain an active research program, involving undergraduate students and attracting external funding
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the faculty, including mentoring junior colleagues and participating in departmental committees
Requirements
  • PhD in a computing-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience in teaching computer science courses, particularly assembly language, hardware/software interface, and operating systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
