Job Overview

Sun Cloud LLC seeks a highly skilled Financial Planning and Control Specialist to join our team in Montréal, QC. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial plans and policies, accounting practices, and preparation of financial reports.

Responsibilities
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end management accounting processes, delivering accurate and timely reports that inform effective decision-making.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff to ensure seamless workflow and efficient practices.
  • Review monthly contract accounting to maintain project accuracy and compliance with revenue recognition policies.
  • Lead cash management, including treasury functions, sufficient funds availability, and bank account control oversight.
  • Prepare internal and external audit fieldwork and schedules, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Improve financial reporting processes and internal controls, partnering with internal audit and corporate accounting to ensure SOX compliance.
  • Review balance sheet and P&L reconciliations to meet reporting requirements.
  • Support the R&D Tax claim process, working closely with external accountants and senior leadership.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting (required).
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience as a Controller or Financial Controller (required).
  • Hold the CPA accounting designation (required).
  • Ability to lead and mentor accounting teams (required).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and written English proficiency (required).
  • Prior experience using Oracle Smart View is an asset.
  • Aerospace and Defence industry experience is required.

Work Environment

Full-time position with an estimated salary range of $110,926.78-$140,009.28 per year. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8 hours per shift. Ability to commute or relocate to Montréal, QC is required.
