Job Title: Sports Equipment Retail Manager

Squamish Watersports is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sports Equipment Retail Manager to join our team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our retail store, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and that our store remains a leader in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and Control Daily Operations: Ensure that all store operations run smoothly and efficiently, including managing staff, inventory, and customer service.
  • Evaluate Daily Operations: Continuously evaluate and improve store operations to ensure that they are meeting our high standards.
  • Plan and Organize Daily Operations: Develop and implement plans to achieve business objectives, including sales targets and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage Staff and Assign Duties: Supervise and train staff to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide excellent customer service.
  • Study Market Research and Trends: Stay up-to-date with market research and trends to determine consumer demand and potential sales volumes.
  • Determine Merchandise and Services: Decide on the types of merchandise and services to be sold in the store.
  • Implement Price and Credits Policies: Develop and implement pricing and credits policies to ensure that they are fair and competitive.
  • Locate, Select, and Procure Merchandise: Source and purchase merchandise for resale in the store.
  • Develop and Implement Marketing Strategies: Create and implement marketing plans to promote the store and its products.
  • Plan Budgets and Monitor Revenues and Expenses: Develop and manage budgets to ensure that the store is profitable.
  • Determine Staffing Requirements: Determine the number of staff needed to meet business objectives.
  • Resolve Issues: Address customer complaints and resolve any issues that may arise.
Requirements:
  • Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a retail management role.
  • Language: English.
