Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Hydrogeology Specialist to join our team in Saskatoon, Canada. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise in water management, hydrogeological studies, and risk assessments.

About the Job

The Principal Hydrogeology role is responsible for managing the execution of hydrogeological studies to support assessment, risk management, remediation, and long-term closure planning. This includes conducting and embedding water and hydrogeological studies, research, and risk assessments to optimize resource value, inform projects, and achieve sustainable water management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage hydrogeological studies to support mine operations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct hydrogeological field studies, including water sampling and geochemical analysis.
  • Develop and implement hydrogeological programs, including groundwater modeling and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and drive an enterprise-wide water risk management framework.
  • Plan, manage, and track the delivery of projects to generate value and achieve project outcomes.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Geoscience, Geology, or related field.
  • Extensive geoscience and/or hydrogeology experience in a mining environment.
  • Strong experience in water sampling, hydrogeological field studies, and hydrogeochemistry.
  • Significant experience in running or interpreting groundwater and/or containment transport modeling.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this role is between CAD$120,000 and CAD$180,000, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, BHP offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
