We are seeking an experienced Wound Care Specialist Nurse to join our team at RhynoCare.

**Job Summary:**

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires the ideal candidate to possess advanced knowledge and clinical skills in wound, ostomy and continence care. The successful candidate will work closely with interdisciplinary care teams to provide comprehensive wound assessments, develop and implement plans of care, and offer educational support to patients.

**Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough wound assessments for residents in long-term care settings.
  • Develop and recommend individualized plans of care to promote optimal wound healing outcomes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for other staff members, physicians, and agency staff on wound, ostomy and continence care.
  • Collaborate with interprofessional care teams to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Provide educational support to patients with various types of wounds, skin issues, fistulas and ostomies.
  • Demonstrate proper techniques for specialty dressings and procedures.
  • Perform other nursing duties as assigned.

**Requirements:

  • Completion of the University of Toronto International Interprofessional Wound Care Course or equivalent is preferred.
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario is mandatory.
  • Current membership with Registered Nurses Association of Ontario is preferred.
  • Active membership with Wounds Canada is required.
  • Certification in Wound, Ostomy & Continence through the Canadian Nurses Association is preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency is necessary.
  • A valid First Aid and CPR Certificate is required.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills are essential.
  • The ability to deal with others in an effective, compassionate and supportive manner is crucial.
  • Respect for each resident's autonomy, self-respect, and privacy is paramount.
  • Familiarity with relevant Federal, Provincial and Municipal Statutes influencing the operation of long-term care facilities is necessary.
  • Medical Clearance, including TB tests within 6 months, is required.
  • A Vulnerable Sector Police Check within 6 months is mandatory.
  • All staff must adhere to COVID-19 prevention protocols and wear masks during outbreaks.

**Compensation and Benefits:**

The estimated salary for this role is between $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
