Job Description

The Relief Pharmacist will work to full scope of practice, enhancing patient health and wellness by administering safe, effective, and responsible drug therapy. Key responsibilities include:

  • Determining the appropriateness of drug therapy
  • Monitoring medication therapy for effectiveness, adverse reactions, and interactions
  • Counseling patients regarding prescriptions, OTC products, and health-related issues
  • Providing clinical services as appropriate for eligible patients
  • Administering injections/immunizations as needed
  • Promoting health and wellness through education on disease prevention, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence
  • Collaborating with team members and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care outcomes
  • Supervising a pharmacy student or provisional pharmacist in restricted activities
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must be licensed and in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacy, hold injection certification, and have additional prescribing authorization as an asset.

Technical Skills

You should possess effective verbal and written communication skills, organizational proficiency, attention to detail, self-directed ability to work independently, and the capacity to work well in a team environment.
