Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Research and Evaluation Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will ensure that our programs meet operational objectives and achieve strategic goals by conducting audits, evaluating funder requirements, designing data collection tools, collecting and analyzing data, and report writing.

About the Role

The Senior Research and Evaluation Specialist must have strong coordination and technical skills, adaptable to meet the needs of various stakeholders. Planning and executing research initiatives to support evidence-based decision making is central to this role. Management of research grants and providing technical expertise are also essential responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • In consultation with the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Managers, develop and implement quality procedures, standards, and specifications to achieve 360°kids' goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create effective partnerships and work with the Management Team to ensure program integration.
  • Provide expertise in designing program evaluations, survey instruments, and data analysis, as well as developing reports with program recommendations.
  • Review and assess program outputs, outcomes, and tracking methods to ensure alignment with funder requirements and strategic priorities.
  • Support project and program development, requiring qualitative and quantitative data to inform strategies, performance objectives, and program results.
  • Oversee research projects supporting industry best practices and new program development.
  • Achieve in-house quality standards through program audits, statistical analysis, problem identification, and resolution.
  • Meet quality assurance financial objectives by estimating requirements, initiating corrective actions, and controls.
  • Determine training needs by assessing gaps and developing training programs to address those needs.
  • Lead a diverse staff team, including recruitment, selection, training, development, and retention, ensuring ongoing competent management of the Research and Evaluation department.
  • Focus on high-performance management, empowering staff, team building, coaching/mentoring, and motivation.
  • Record, analyze, and distribute statistical information to the Chief Operating Officer, CEO, Board of Directors, other designated organizations, and regulatory agencies.
  • Stay updated on trends and developments in quality management, maintaining personal networks, and contributing to proposals for funding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work or Child/youth-related field (e.g., Child and Youth, Social Service Worker, Social Worker, Psychology, Sociology) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years management experience working in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Sufficient experience demonstrating extensive knowledge of working with street-involved youth.
  • Familiarity with quality management tools, concepts, and methodologies, and a strong understanding of the regulatory environment.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
  • Thorough understanding of issues related to youth.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, consensus/team building, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
  • Relationship-building skills to support relationships with managers, peers within the industry, and stakeholders.

Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000-$110,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
