The University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) seeks a talented researcher to join the Department of Computer and Mathematical Sciences. As a Statistical Sciences Researcher, you will contribute to an undergraduate curriculum in the health sciences and establish an independent research program.

We are seeking exceptional candidates with a strong background in statistical theory and methods relevant to the health sciences. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated capacity to teach and conduct research, and contribute to initiatives associated with the new Scarborough Academy of Medicine and Integrated Health (SAMIH).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and teach courses in statistical sciences for undergraduate students
  • Conduct independent research in statistical sciences, with a focus on the health sciences
  • Collaborate with faculty members to develop and implement curricula in statistical sciences
  • Publish research findings in top-ranked field-relevant journals

Requirements:

  • PhD degree in Statistics or a related area by the time of appointment
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and research
  • Strong commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and promoting a respectful and collegial learning and working environment
