About This Opportunity

We are seeking a talented Environmental Risk Assessor to join our growing team of professionals in Ontario, Canada. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work on a variety of projects evaluating human health and ecological concerns associated with contaminants in the environment.

As an Environmental Risk Assessor, you will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting field and analytical data, developing conceptual site models and problem formulations, exposure modeling, and site assessment/risk assessment/remedial options report preparation in accordance with current provincial and federal requirements.

You will also conduct field work as required to obtain additional data related to risk assessment projects, meet client-based and regulatory reporting deadlines, and contribute to the manipulation and maintenance of our contaminant transport models and in-house risk assessment tools.

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and interpret field and analytical data to develop conceptual site models and problem formulations.
  • Develop exposure models and site assessment/risk assessment/remedial options reports in accordance with current provincial and federal requirements.
  • Conduct field work as required to obtain additional data related to risk assessment projects.
  • Meet client-based and regulatory reporting deadlines.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Bachelor or Master's Degree in one of the Environmental Sciences (Toxicology, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, etc.), Environmental Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in an engineering or consulting environment is an asset.
  • Up to three years of related risk assessment and/or site assessment experience, although exceptional students in a risk assessment related field will be considered.
  • Eligibility for registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or Professional Geoscientists Ontario (PGO) is also an asset.

This role requires excellent technical writing and oral communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office software suite, a conscientious and detail-oriented approach to projects, and a valid Ontario driver's license. You will also need to obtain federal reliability security clearance.
